“You have kissed a thousand times, maybe more. But today the feeling is new. No longer simply partners and best friends, you have become husband and wife and can now seal the covenant with a kiss. You may kiss the bride.”
The camera was to my eye. I witnessed Bryan and Katie become engaged over a year ago. Photographed their beautiful newborn daughter Evie almost a year ago. Now my camera was focused on Bryan and Evie dancing below the string lights and on the outdoor tile off the beach. Evie’s parents were married just a couple hours earlier. As they danced I could see Katie and her mother Joyce tearing up. Joyce put her arm on Katie’s shoulder and I lost it. This moment. The love. The joy. The happiness. The gratefulness. The emotions. And I cried. I cried tears of joy and had to trust the auto focus system of my camera because of the tears. It was beautiful, and a moment I will never forget.
My heart is full after spending the weekend with Katie and Bryan and their families in Fort Myers Beach for their wedding celebration. Before the wedding day I journaled my goals for capturing the wedding day. The goals were to create art, shoot how it feels, and tell the story.” My hope is that these goals are reflected in the images below. Katie and Bryan, Thank you for bringing me to Fort Myers and for trusting us to capture your wedding day and to tell your wedding story. My heart is full.
