Saturday’s wedding is still on my mind today. It was a day full of emotion, happiness, excitement, happy tears, and love. This image in particular brings tears to my eyes because it was one of those moments that defines my love for wedding photography. It’s a moment in time and a photograph that I will always remember. Nikki and Paul exited the church hand in hand and smiling with pure joy. The nerves were gone. They were finally married. They were finally one as husband and wife. When they were completely out of the church hall and by themselves for the first time as husband and wife, they embraced and kissed.
Not an every day kiss. This was a kiss of joy, a kiss of passion, a kiss of happiness, and a kiss of pure love. It was beautiful. I was far away from them when this happened and I’m sure they didn’t see me. I noticed them from the corner of my eye and put the camera to my eye. They only noticed each other and were in the moment. This image, this piece of art, their love for each other, and capturing this moment is why I am a wedding photographer.
