Elise and Grant Anniversary

It’s a true love story. I had the pleasure of witnessing Elise and Grant say “I do” in 2010, and for their anniversary Grant had a master plan. Grant divulged his plan to me at one of the Lake Orion Football games, and he asked me to be involved.  For their first anniversary he arranged for the hall (Boulder Point) to give them a private dinner with the same meal.  Elise loves cake, so he had an anniversary cake made that matches their original wedding cake.  When I arrived I noticed that Elise had a permanent smile on her face from the whole evening.   We went out on the course for a few portraits and found the hill where we captured one of their favorite wedding photos.  Here’s the original photo and the anniversary photo side by side.  Congratulations Elise and Grant.  It was an honor to be your wedding photographer and to witness the true love that you have for each other.

Jillyan and Chad Married – Detroit Yacht Club Wedding

The dress… Vera Wang.  The location… Detroit Yacht Club. The weather…. perfect.  Jillyan and Chad met on the grounds of the Detroit Yacht Club to exchange rings, kisses, and to become husband and wife.   As they saw each other for their first look I couldn’t help to be emotional when seeing Chad’s face when he saw his bride for the first time in her wedding dress. It was truly beautiful.   Jillyan’s bridesmaids peeked in on the meeting and you could hear a collective “awwwwwww” as Jillyan and Chad kissed.  Here are a few of my favorite images from that day.

Engagement Session Promo Video

A sample engagement session shot on the campus of Michigan State University with Amanda and Ronnie.  The intent of this video is to give you an idea of how I work during an engagement session. Every wedding package includes an engagement session in order to give us an opportunity to get to know each other and to prepare for photography on the wedding day. Lean more about wedding photography by Edward Maurer.

Special thanks to Andy Owen of Owen Video for producing the video.  He’s an amazingly talented wedding videographer and a pleasure to work with.

A Year In Review 2011

Wow, what a year 2011 has been. I’ve had the great fortune to capture the love and passion of many people that I now call friends.  It was a year of photographing laughter, tears, happiness, fun, love, passion, and epicness.  Below is a list of some of my favorite moments and photographs from 2011.

Lastly, the most emotional day of the entire year was when I captured this photograph.  That’s Joyce in the center. She was the mother of a bride from last year and one of the most amazing people I have ever met.  I believe in you Joyce!!!!!
