My Daughter, the Hero
December 1, 2009She played in front of a crowd of people without a fear. 7 years ago her mom and I had fears that she would never make it, and now here she stands in front of a crowd playing a version of “Rock Around The Clock.” Her brothers, parents, Team in Training team members, and even her piano teacher sat in the audience with smiles on their faces, and they clapped when the song was over. We all clapped, and as she held her music and stood on stage the grin on her face was priceless.
Makes me think of that song Daughter by Laudon Wainwright. “That’s my daughter in the water, everything she knows I taught her. Everything she knows.”
