It’s a true love story. I had the pleasure of witnessing Elise and Grant say “I do” in 2010, and for their anniversary Grant had a master plan. Grant divulged his plan to me at one of the Lake Orion Football games, and he asked me to be involved. For their first anniversary he arranged for the hall (Boulder Point) to give them a private dinner with the same meal. Elise loves cake, so he had an anniversary cake made that matches their original wedding cake. When I arrived I noticed that Elise had a permanent smile on her face from the whole evening. We went out on the course for a few portraits and found the hill where we captured one of their favorite wedding photos. Here’s the original photo and the anniversary photo side by side. Congratulations Elise and Grant. It was an honor to be your wedding photographer and to witness the true love that you have for each other.

You may remember Nancy and Chris from an engagement session I photographed with them last year. Their home is going to be featured in the Sylvan Lake Magazine and they wanted some more photographic art to display on their walls. The addition of two more dogs gave us an opportunity to photograph more of their rescued pets. This photo however was my all time favorite from the session. Here’s a link to the rest of the photos on our Facebook page.
We second shoot weddings for each other. I seem to learn something every time I shoot with Miranda. From the first time I saw her imagery I knew that she had a special gift with the camera, but the first time I knew that she was a top notch wedding photographer was when I saw her at a wedding tucked away in the corner with all of the ladies flower bouquets. Camera was down and scissors in hand, she was cutting the pollen pods out of the lilies in the bride’s bouquet. The florist neglected to do it and the flowers were staining the brides dress. There was Miranda taking care of the bride in a way that I would never had thought of. Her imagery is amazing and she truly shoots from the heart. Meet the fabulous Miranda of Inner Circle Photography. We went to the Meadow Brook Mansion in Rochester Michigan a couple weeks ago to capture some portraits for her website and we had a lot of fun.
This next one is my favorite. The rarely seen serious side of Miranda.

Let’s go take a walk in the park and see what we see. That’s how family photo sessions have been going lately. We take a walk, talk a little to get to know each other, and occasionally take some photographs. Ok, my camera is usually going quite a bit because it’s in these walks where a lot of the beautiful candid things happen. It’s when the true personalities come out and I get to capture those expressions of every day life. Lifestyle portrait photography. Here’s a photo taken on one of those family walks at the Rochester Park.
I love this park for many reasons. First and foremost, it’s one of the places my bride and I went on our first date and it’s the place where I asked her to marry me. Second, I always find something new to photograph there. I’ve taken many family photo walks in this park and each of them looks like it was taken in a different place. If you ever get the chance to visit the city of Rochester I highly recommend taking a walk through this park and enjoy the beauty that it has to offer.
