Engagement Session Promo Video

A sample engagement session shot on the campus of Michigan State University with Amanda and Ronnie. The intent of this video is to give you an idea of how I work during an engagement session. Every wedding package includes an engagement session in order to give us an opportunity to get to know each other and to prepare for photography on the wedding day. Megan and Adrian Engagements – Big Rapids Michigan

Adrian had a week to learn it. One week to learn the chords. One week to learn the lyrics. One week to practice the guitar and sing the song at the same time. One week before he would nervously give her a ring after playing the song Marry Me by Train. Megan said yes.

Adrian and Megan met on the campus of Ferris State University in Big Rapids Michigan so naturally that is where we traveled to photograph their engagement session. Time flew by as we were taking photos and I really enjoyed getting to know these two wonderful people. I smiled behind the camera a lot. :) Their love for each other was absolutely beautiful and I’m really looking forward to their wedding next year.

Laura and Josh Engaged – Hillsdale Michigan

Recently I met Josh and Laura at Josh’s family cottage in Hillsdale Michigan for their engagement session. We walked and talked and had a great time getting to know each other. We occasionally took some pictures too. Laura is a cardiology nurse and Josh is finishing up school for orthodontics. Their love story began at the University of Michigan so we had to get some captures with their Wolverine wear. As the sun set we took a boat ride to the other side of the lake and watched these fabulous orange streaks form in the skyline. Josh and Laura it was a pleasure to meet you and I’m looking forward to your wedding day.

Kara and John Engagement – Lake Orion Michigan

Had a great evening boating with Kara and John last night. We could not have picked a better day. The temperature was perfect, the sun was setting beautifully, and the wind was calm. Beautiful for a boat ride around Lake Orion. We stopped on the Lake Orion Boat Club island for a couple portraits as well.

Steph and Logan Engagements – Rochester Michigan

Stephanie and Logan will be holding hands later this year declaring their love for one another for the world to hear. I’ll be there with a camera pointed in their direction and I cannot wait for the day they become husband and wife. We met last week for some engagement pictures and it was a nice way to get to know them before the big day. Here are just a few of the images we captured at the engagement session and I’m looking forward to the art we can create on their wedding day.

Carrie and George Engagements – Henry Ford Museum Dearborn Michigan

Carrie and George met me at the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn Michigan after our plans for an outdoor engagement session were thwarted by mother nature. The rain didn’t stop us today and we had a great time walking through the museum. I got to learn a lot about them in our session and I’m really looking forward to their wedding day. Lauren and Bobby Engagement – Lake Orion Michigan

Meet Lauren and Bobby. Two business owners with a true passion for what they do. Lauren is a Send Out Cards rep and Bobby owns a landscaping company. It was a pleasure to get to know them a bit more today and I’m excited to photograph their wedding in a couple weeks.

Engagement Session Photo Walk – Rochester Michigan

The engagement session photo walk at the Meadow Brook Mansion was a huge success. Thank you to all of the fabulous photographers for signing up and joining me for this great event. I’ve seen some of the photographs captured and I’m blown away by what you saw that day. I really had a great time talking with you about how I photograph an engagement session. We talked, we danced, we laughed, we oo’d and ah’d, and we took some fantastic photographs. Our engaged couple (Ben and Jessica) really had a great time as well.

The weather was a bit cold and windy, but the light was beautiful and I knew we had to take advantage of it. It was a nice exercise to not only look for light, but to look for locations that would block the wind. Stay tuned to this blog for the next photo walk, I’d like to have an informal one in May and then maybe a more formal walk in June.
